Has anyone ever tried switching the cooling fan on the ATI Radeon video card? I was considering replacing the stock fan with a small 3-pin fan so I can connect it to my DigitalDoc5 for RPM monitoring, but all the video card cooling kits I can find say they are for the GeForce3 chipset.

On a similar note... has anyone had the problem of the fan going wacky and making all kinds of racket? I think its the loudest fan in my system...

I took the stock hsf off my 32ddr. It was really easy cause ATI skimped on the bonding adhesive. I am using the same p3 370 copper hsf as seen here in this Radeon mod guide.

That Radeon mod guide was exactly the kind of thing I was looking for. Thanks for the link!
