I had a Blue Orb II CPU cooler that just broke so I replaced it with the stock Intel heatsink. I loaded the computer and it idles at 30-37C depending on my room temp. Is it safe to continue to use this heatsink? I am not overclocking the CPU, only my RAM. Also would an airduct going to the rear 120mm fan help?

I was looking at this airduct

With this 120MM adapter

and I have this case

In the case, I have the standard front 120MM fan (I believe it's blowing in). A rear 120MM fan (Blowing out) a side 120MM fan (I believe it's blowing in) and a bottom 120MM fan (Blowing in).

I don't want to overclock this machine but I want to cool it as well as possible, the room the computer is in gets pretty warm, sometimes 80 degrees F.

30-37s is not hot.

70c is hot

I haven't run a stress test but I'm pretty sure it'll hit that. Since any normal use won't stress 4 cores constantly, should I not bother with an airduct or do you think it's a good idea to keep motherboard temps low?

Well, run a stress test and see how hot it gets. If it's that low at idle it probably won't go too much above 60-65c, which is nothing to worry about

Temps are fine. Be a shame not to OC the processor though. I'm pretty sure you can push about 3.2 on stock. Mines at 3.6 @ 1.2v

Well about overclocking, I had done it at one point but I saw no difference in performance so I clocked it back at regular settings. About the stress test, I ran it with my computer case open (no reason, just too lazy to shut it) and it got to 60C in about 5 mins. After hitting 60C, I got a blue screen with IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. Any ideas?
