Cooling a Duron

I'm about to get a Duron 700 and a motherboard (Abit or MSI TBD). I'm getting it from TC Computers and they will install it with a "standard" socket A heatsink. If I don't plan on overclocking (or at least VERY little), should I get a bigger/better cooling solution?
 
You probably won't need to change the heatsink, unless you get too much heat. But with a Duron, not overclocked, you should be fine. Getting a better heatsink is not a bad thing to do if you are a little paranoid though.
 
For 28 bucks or so you can get an Alpha Cooler. I have a Duron 800 and it keeps mine very cool. I never trust the cheep HS/Fan combos. There is a reason they are cheep. Thats all I have. Ape Out.
 
i agree, spending a little extra on a good HSF in like an insurance policy on your CPU, you never know with the cheapies...and if you decide to overclock in the future then you are set.
 
I agree. Spend a few bucks more and get a decent heatsink and fan. I have a Duron 700 running stable at 1083 on an Abit KT7 mobo with a Cooler Master DP5-6H11 Heatsink/Fan.
