Cooling a Duron 800

I just ordered all the parts needed to gather myself a new Duron-powered computer:

ASUS A7V ATX
AMD DURON 800
TT-Tech Chrome Orb
256 MB SDRAM PC133
blablabla

... Now I just wondered; is it really worth it to use another 16$ on some Artic Silver Compound?

- Just wanted to hear some oppinions.

Some people swear by it. I personally don't want to fork about $15 + whatever shipping just to have my temps lowered a couple C. If your proc runs fine and stable, don't worry about it. If you are sucking every last possible performance out of your Chrome Orb and need a little more performace, then maybe.

If your happy with the regular thermal grease. Stay with it. If your overclocking and need more performace, might as well get another HSF.

Thanks for the advice, but I don't think they'll send it all the way to Scandinavia for a low cost... 🙂

lucky me. i dont think i'll have to pay for my arctic silver, because its not mine. my friend bought a whole tube for building one computer. he said i can use it. i just hope he wont make me pay him.
