And they wonder why Vista was an epic failure.

God... morons and fanboys alike are coming out of the woodwork in this thread.

and you just provide us with an example of a moronic post.

way to go. ;)

Extreme opinions are never well-rounded. Sure Vista has problems just like any other OS, but folks who refuse to recognize the good along with the bad (or the bad along with the good) have opinions that aren't doing anyone any good.

I was sure this was going to turn into one giant "YOU SUCK!" "NO YOU SUCK!" "NO YOU SUCK!" thread just like what the Video forums used to be.

It's not quite to that point; there are 2 or 3 good posts in this thread. No, mine are not either of them. :D

Are you a veteran software engineer? I'm willing to bet you haven't written anything significant, to say nothing of an entire operating system. Look before ya leep, bud!

As a person who actually uses Vista everyday I can say without a doubt that it is a OK improvement over Windows XP but like the 98 vs XP debate it will take time for people to switch to it. I figured it would take 3 years for it to become really mature with patches, service packs and drivers and of course memory prices will continue to fall.

What exactly is the improvement over WinXP SP2? Can you be more specific? I just got done reading this month's PC magazine with a 6 page spread on how Vista was unneeded and feels like WinXP layered with bloatware.

I should have said minor improvement, the more I thought of the things that they changed I realized they weren't that big of a deal and should have been made years ago.

1. Improved open save dialog ( FINALLY!!!!) but still could have been better.

2. Search box in the start menu is useful.

3. Improved explorer that I don't use because I love Dopus 9.

4. Autoplay dialog is better.

5. Wifi is suppose to be better or worse depending how you look at it.

6. Symbolic links

Lame. I installed it. It simulates a Windows Vista desktop, but only half of the screen is in English, and there are no features available except for "Look what I can do" functions.

agreed.

So I have to install one piece of shit in order to watch another piece of shit. What kind of proposition is that?
