a really nice Calphalon Pan from a bridal registery and a GC to a spa from a local radio station, other than that 100$ at BINGO once!

I won a copy of Visual Studio 6 back in college. 1/4 of the people there won the same thing though. It wasn't much of an accomplishment.

AMD XP Tbird 1800+
MSI KT133 mobo

From the 1st AMD contest. Easiest contest ever. Had to get up at 5AM though.

Is that stuff like Swarovski? 'cos my mom's into all this Swarovski crystal stuff (and so am I now) and it looks interesting.

Anyways, I once won a basketball ring that you could hang on the back of the door, but I was too young to play basketball then, so my parents gave it off.

Another thing I won was a Chiquita Skateboard. My friends were all gambling at this roulette kind of machine at the school fair, and they are like, take a chance, so I took ONE chance, and I won that skateboard. Then they were all lilke, take another chance, but I didn't. You're only lucky once per game, according to me. And then you lose everything. Anyways, gave the skateboard to my lil' brother (who was like 11 then)

i won a sega genesis probably 14 years ago 🙂

they had a competition at West Coast Video near me, and to quality for the final you had to do a 60 second run in Sonic (1 or 2, i forget) on the first level, and the highest scores went to the finals. well i qualified by FAR and he told me I had the highest score by very much and would definitely be the last to go at the finals if i chose to. so of course i chose to.

when i went home, i borrowed my brothers friends genesis and proceeded to practice sonic the hedgehog and MASTERED the first level. I could get passed the first level in 28 seconds. and if you passed it in under 30 seconds, you received a HUGE bonus! so i was a PRO at this game and had it in the bag!

well at the finals that weekend, i went and watched as i found out we were going to be playing Bubsy instead of Sonic. All that practice for nothing. but again, i went last. so people started playing and doing just okay, then one guy did really well. then the 2nd to last guy went and he CRUSHED everyone else, by a LOT! so after he went all his friends were cheering and he was all happy. he was cool with the guy at the store and i'm pretty sure he was tipped off as to what game the final would be. HOWEVER, i went on to pwn him and basically do what he did, but do it better and i ended up winning 🙂.

well that's my story 🙂. i was about 9-10 at the time (i believe, it was right around when MK1 was coming out for genesis).

athlon xp 2400+ when they first came out (at one of those athlon events). 4 of us went, and we each won a free processor (they were all won in draws).

$100 from an instant lotto ticket recieved at thanksgiving (birthday gifts from aunts and uncles for those with bdays between xmas YYYY and thanksgiving YYYY + 1 are given at thanksgiving)

$100 they gave to a couple of people at work as sort of bribes to try and get everyone to fill out the work surveys.

I answered a couple of questions, but mostly but 'Cannot answer/refuse to answer'

How did you win? Twice? Who had the contest?

Well, I had to submit a paper to the GOMD division of the American Ceramics Society. They chose the best paper and it wins the award. I've done it twice. So I guess it's a little bit of a skill thing, but I just think its a cool chunk of glass.(I have won a 30" TV by walking into a banks grand opening among other things, I just think the hunks of glass are cool!)

And to logic1485, it is simliar, the main difference being that I believe the Swarovski guys cut theirs, while the Stueben are hand blown glass pieces. (lead crystal = lead silicate glass)

Panasonic 42" HD Plasma TV from CES last year.

EDIT: The prize package also included a computer w/Microsoft Windows Media Center, speakers, and an MP3 player. The prize package was offered by Microsoft.
