Coolest running X1950XT...

I can't survive on this Geforce 6200 LE any longer. Which 1950xt will run the coolest or with the best cooling/power consumption? If the answer is a Geforce 7950gt let me know also. I only have a 500w psu but its not very high quality.

Well i thought the power color one with the arctic cooling X2 after market cooler would be so i got one and well it gets hot still. http://www.powercolor.com/Glob...atures.asp?ProductID=3

My temps still max at 85*C to 89*C 🙁 I am half way sure it has to be lack of air in that part of the case, will add a 90mm fan on my chipset heatsink more than likely in the morning to see if i can get better temps by moving hot air from heatsink away from the x1950xt... The problem is my heatsink for my chipset is < 0.5" from the X1950XT heatsink and fan.

But i do knot know if you can find a 1950xtx that might be the best way to do lol

Or get one of these http://www.thermalright.com/a_...product_hr03_Rev_A.htm and add a 90mm or a 120mm fan and it will be the coolest it can get with air i am sure. But these things are HUGE and you need 3 slots for it at least with a fan, so check around before you buy.

They all run pretty hot from what I have seen.

Your best choice IMO would be to buy what ever card suits you then rip off the stock cooling and put on an aftermarket one. You will be happier with the temps ( And your ears will thank you too.)

If you decide on one and want to keep the stock cooler make sure it isn't anything exotic (i.e. Peltier/TEC)

My x1950xtx ran hot with stock hs, installed ati tools and made the fan run faster, idles now at 39c and around 69c loaded.
