Hi. I am trying to find the coolest and quietest 3.5" HDD enclosure that is also reasonably priced.
I have a Maxtor Plus 9 200 Gig Hard drive, and it gets really really hot. I've been using with a plastic IOMAGIC CDRW enclosure, and after a while, the HDD gets TOO hot to touch.
I need an enclosure which is quiet (possibly fanless) and can keep my Maxtor cool. I plan to use with my laptop and honestly, I don't intend to ever turn off the enclosure, so I need something realiable.
I've searched the site and
COOLMAX 3.5" USB 2.0 Aluminum External Enclosure, Model "CD-309-U2" -RETAIL (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=17-146-030&depa=0) from Newegg.com seems to recommended by a few Anandtech readers.
However, is there a better and hopefully cheaper choice?

PS. I guess my Nec 2500A DVD burner won't die inside a cheap plastic
