coolers that will fit with Ripjaws ?

Elixer

Lifer
This is getting annoying, I can't seem to find a good cooler that has a height of at least 42mm, since the ripjaws are 41mm in height. Most coolers don't mention the height that I can find.

Anyone got any experience with ripjaws & AMD boards ?
Looking to spend a max of $40.

Zalman CNPS10X Performa height is 152mm (vs 158mm for the Hyper 212 +) from the base to the tip of the heatpipes, so as long as your case is 180mm (~7.08 inches) wide or more, you’ll be fine

Not sure if this helps but I got the Ripjaws X series which i think its higher than the old ones and my hyper 212+ fits

Um, this has nothing to do with case size, this has to do with clearance issues with the ram.
Looking at the Hyper 212+ info, they show this picture.

It clearly shows the bottom of the socket to the heatsink is 37mm and ripjaws are 41mm in height, so how is this going to fit ?

It is too bad they only show that info for the Hyper 212+, I don't see it for the other heatsinks they carry.

I don't think the 212 will fit the Ripjaws. I didn't see enough clearance in my setup. RAM without a heatsink would fit though.

I have the ripjaws. A hyper 212 Plus will work just fine.
Just slide the fan up about 1/16" or so

I have a corsair A50 that cleared Ripjaws.. I replaced my AC freezer pro in favor of A50.. just for this reason.

That is a intel board, I think the sockets are farther from what AMD boards have.
It seems so, but specs are hard to find.

On that 212+ drawing the sink is 51 mm, so half of it is 25.5 mm. The sink+fan is 77 mm. Thus, distance from center of CPU to edge of fan is 51.5 mm or so. That sounds plenty. Can the board be measured?

For (outside budget and platform) comparison, with Thermalright HR-02 + fan the same measure is apparently 50 mm, and it is touching the heatsink of first G.Skill ECO on Asus P8P67 Pro, an Intel board. ECO are not tall, but the 140 mm fan extends low.

On most towers it is the fan that will hit the RAM, and the fan can be shifted upwards.

Not an AMD board but i have a Xigmatek Dark Knight (black knight?) on my board with Ripjaws... I did leave the fan off untill stuff was mounted, dont think I could get memory in or out if fan was over it (its not, but its very close). it would go over the memory in my board and not hit it if had too. As I say, you couldnt get the meory in or out.. but it would clear.
