A lot different than the V8...

http://www.coolermaster-usa.co...ct.php?product_id=2880

Looks like an interesting concept. Dual 120mm PWM fans. One for the dual-tower cooler like the Thermalright IFX-14, the second for a horizontal heatsink that sits over the RAM. I forsee a few problems.
1) RAM height. Sure, a 120mm fan over the RAM is nice, but as long as there's no aftermarket heatspreaders like the Dominators.
2) It uses a TEC. Like the Ultra TEC cooler. 6 Heatpipes when the TEC is off, and 4 additional (6+4=10) to cool the TEC when it is used.
3) It's huge. 2.65lbs. That's 1.2kg.

But still, I think I'd buy one for sh!ts and giggles for my next i7 rig.

Is it just me or does it seem that CM has outdone themselves on gimmicky-ness?

You'd be surprised on how flexible PCB's really are... my eVGA 680i and 8800GTS are quite warped and still working (except that the 680i kills RAM, but that's another story)

Why would you want to put that shroud on it. Does nothing but limit the airflow and probably add some turbulence or vibration noise. It looks like a mess, with or without it.

Because it's puuurrrrttyyy

CM is catering to 13 year olds building PC's with pop's money imo. Not a bad business move, but I really don't think they were targeting the enthusiast crowd on this one :p

UH OH, another one getting "Aigoed"!

Just let him get "Aigo'd". I've already gone from A TRU-120 to two 3x120 loops. I may be poorer but I'm happier. :D

The only reason I haven't gone water is because my super low ambients let me rock WC like temps. 3.5gHz C2D at ~38 load, 9800gt at 36 load? I'm happy for now, but I'm plannign on water for my next rig which will be i7/SLI or CF
