I have a coolermaster DS2-5FD2 HSF on my pentium II Slot 1 SECC chip
the fan is dying and i want to replace it.

do i have to replace the whole HSF or just the fan.

the specs on the fan are: 50mmx50mmx10
4500 rpm
27.5db
9.18 cfm

so, can i just replace the fan or HSF...coz the HSF costs $15 and i've already sold this bundle to my friend...[he is taking delivery next week]

thank u

Just replace the fan -

YS-Tech do a nice reliable 50MM one, avoid Akasa ones, i replaced the stock coolermaster fan on my Katmai 500 with one and it lasted 2 months before it got noisy 🙁 . 50MM fans aren`t the easiest to buy now 60MM are the defacto standard on Athlon Heatsinks, i got mine from a UK computer show for £3 and bought three just in case..
