Greetings,

Anyone have any problems with this fan?

So far I think it may have been responsible for crushing the core of 2 durons I have installed.

I recently bought a fan made by a company called NENG, it has a copper base and the fan is smaller than the coolermaster but keeps my new T/bird very cool and is very quiet.

I haven't had any problems with the CoolerMaster HSF. On the other hand, if the NENG works for you...

The DP5-6H51 is IMHO one of the few Coolermaster HSF's with an awful clip...the clip of this HSF sucks almost as much as the Gloabl Win clips.

I just purchased this fan, and I'm not impressed. I'm running idle temps of 46-48 C., on my 1Gig T-Bird( Not overclocked ) The retail HSF was keeping it much cooler, 42C. Unfortunalty I snapped a blade off the fan, and had to replace the unit.

Loud, I have had a couple of customers complain to me about this fan. There are better, quieter ones for the money.

Ah, I see I am not alone then, I found the clip the main problem, it was noisy too, the neng copper fan is damn neat.

Hmm. I own this HSF with my Duron 700@1000mhz. It works fine for me and isn't that loud. My temperatures are somewhere around the low 100's under normal use. This is with a MSI board so add about 10 degrees. So I probably run around 110. I didn't have a problem installing it. No problems with the clip and haven't crushed my core yet (knock on wood). I've installed and removed it at least 10 times. (In the beginning I was having problems with pencil trick, got it right finally, I also just recently put some Arctic silver on it which helped a degree or 2. ) Eventually I will buy a Global Win FOP32 or Kanie Hedgehog. I also have my eye on that new HSF, forgot the name but it is vantec or something. Anyway it has some liquid inside it to help heat transfer. The results so far seem very interested. Just my 2 cents.

I have taken this HSF off of my duron about 4 times, each time i tell myself i hope i didnt crush the core. The fan is weak and the heatsink sucks. I put a sunon 80mm 36CFM on the heatsink but havent seem much improvement. Im ordering a GW soon for better cooling. I have to say taking the HSF out hasnt been much of a problem. Just try not to apply too much force on the clip, if you think your trying too hard then back off and try again. its worked for me.

I had this hsf too, just installed a modded alpha pal35. It came with a Sunon 60mm fan (25mm thick). I looked on the Sunon website - but you can't find particular fan spex. The fan on my 6H51 was a YStech, and (after going to heatsink-guide.com) I figured that the fan installed on the alpha was less efficient. (The Alpha website wasn't very helpful)
Anyone know how i could determine which fan is better. I installed the YStech one, so I hope it's better (i had to cut down the bolts :(). Any info on this ??

PM me
cheers,

I know that the YS Tech one on the Cooler Master pushes 21.9 CFM, I think i got that off of inflowdirect.com . Try there for some help, just look at a porduct that has that fan.

Well, we all know how delicate amd cores can be sometimes, especially the durons...and the last thing we need is a badly designed heatsink crushing them.
