Coolermaster Centurion Case, what is this big metal washer for?

So I've got a COOLER MASTER Centurion 532 RC-532-SKN1 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811119094

And I am putting together my first build. Included in the coolermaster case supplies is a thick washer that fits over my ring finger. What is this washer for?

I used the washer and thread the front panel wires through so that they are held down.

I thought that was the most logical use for the washer.

that makes sense. glad to hear it dosen't have some critical MOBO use or something.

anyone else use it to thread or something different?

I wondered the same thing when I got the Centurion case, and that's exactly what I used it for.

The washer is not a washer, it's called a ferrite ring. They are used for suppressing RFI in wires. You put the front panel wires thru the center, wrap them around and thru the center again (like tieing the ring on the wires w/o making a knot). I guess the user guide for that case is of the same high quality as other CM manuals... :roll: Every one I've seen is useless in 8 or 9 languages!

Here are a few excerpts from the CM Centurion 5 manual:

Centurion represents quality of Discipline, Honor, Integrity & Loyalty. Now you don't have to be a Caesar to concord the digital world while feeling safe and proud..

Installing the motherboard:
1. Unscrew the side panel and remove it.
2. Lay the chassis.
3. Locate the motherboard with the location of motherboard screw location.
4. Secure the motherboard with suitable screws.

And I guess this is repeated in the other 10 languages. :laugh: The case itself is great, but the manual is just sad.
