ive been checking out the cooler master stacker case since ive read about it in maximum pc.

a total of 11 5.25" drive bay possible, enormous size, btx compatible, dual power supply (possible), a blower fan near the mother board, up to 3 rear fans, top fan, up to 3 front fans.

my questions are...

is this overkill?

what would be the advantage of two power supplies and how would you get it to work?

which fans should be intake, and which should be exhaust?

if not this case, then something similar.

thanks.

Initially i was going to purchase the stacker but then changed my mind. I do think it can be overkill. I actually saw it in person, close up and its huge.

I went for the Coolermaster Centurion 5 CAC-T05 Windows Edition Black. Its very nice in design and the front panel looks great with the blue leds.

Which ever you pick from the either, you will getting a quality case. Enjoy ;)

Two power supplies would come in handy if you wanted to run some ultimate level cooling components.

Personally, I'm enjoying my Lian-Li V1100B quite a bit. IF I was looking for a larger case, I'd go with the V2100B... That can hold even MORE hard drives and optical drives... At 12 3.5" drives and 7 5.25" drives it can hold more than you would expect. All that and it's just 24.3" tall... Something like that will probably hold my next server... :D

No, the stacker is not overkill, because too much cooling is almost enough, and the Stacker is a MONSTER when it comes to aircooling....

Stacker = Sexy
Really good airflow for aircooling and very spacious for watercoolers with the option to mount the radiators to the bottom of the case!

If I HAD to buy a new case, it would be either the STacker or the "Silverstone-with-plastic-tube-wind-tunnel".

Bigger cases are just easier to cool and easier to work with and within. I've bought mid-towers between 1998 and a year ago. I am now partial again to full-tower cases.

Hey I own a Stacker myself. Just recently bought it last month. This case is so great in every way. First of all the cooling capabilities are the best of any case I can think of. There isn't a case I've seen that has better cooling options. And I look at the case being huge as a bonus because it has sooo much room to work inside of and its easy to get around. Cable management in the Stacker is also superb, it is so easy to hide the cables behind the motherboard tray, and you have so much room inside the case that its easy to get everything nice and neat. The fact that you can also fit another PSU is good for those power users who might need that extra power, I know I wouldn't as of now, but hey in the future you never know. Also you basically have a future proof case due to the Stackers ability to be able to switch to BTX format. All in all I love this case, and it is definately my favorite case so far that I have ever owned.

Very impressive Dynamix!!!! That is probably the best case job I've ever seen. Not gaudy at all but perfectly executed. Well done!!! I've been looking for my dream case all day, and your pics just decided it for me.....Stacker it is....................

I also have the Stacker, and have to go with what Dynamix is saying - very nice case. If you're interested in the looks of it, there's a good side window you can get for it, only problem is that when we switch over to BTX, the text on the window will be upside down...
