Question away! I would too, if I wasn't playing around with one.

These things kick Antec booty, if that means anything...

Heh!

Actually, it doesn't mean much to me either way...

Antec & CM are both ghetto cases!

I guess it depends on whether you're a Blood or a Crip (I'm a Crip)! 😉

Hey Tull,

The 690 is only 19" tall. Aren't the 520's mobo cables at least 19" long (according to the SPCR review they are - they list the lengths of all the cables), so they could reach all the way to the top of the case.

I don't know, to be honest...the PSU is still in my old rig (w/wheels) awaiting a CPU & video card before being transferred to its' new home (w/o wheels).

Does anyone know the ratings of the fans that come with the case (CFM, db)?

These are the fans that came with my Cooler Master case. More than likely they are the same thing included on all other Cooler Master cases too.

1200RPM and 51CFM. The RPM is indeed exact.

These cases (CM690, Nine Hundred, etc.) are not meant for quiet computing, really. You can of course lower the noise level to a certain extent, but there is inevitable trade-off between silence and cooling. There are folks who think the PSU that comes with Antec Fusion cases is the loudest thing in the world.. These cases are definitely not for them. But for overclockers who don't mind a little bit of fan blowing noise, this CM690 for $60 ($40 after MIR) is a fantastic deal. I personally rate this CM690 higher than Nine Hundred.

The fan CM used to put in their cases was one you couldn't even buy separately (at least it was never listed with their other fans on their web sites) except at those sites that specialize in overpriced, exact replacements. Something like this: A12025-12CB-4KN-L1 - it was originally rated at 60mA, but now it (same part number) is rated at 120mA.

For $40 at ZZF, this is a great deal, and I just ordered one.

It's going to be a Windows Home Server running a mobile CPU on a mATX board, so should run plenty cool and quiet for me.

Just got mine in and moved all my stuffs over from my cramped CM Elite330. I have two 900RPM Enermax 120's in the side and I'm very pleased. This is the best case I've ever had for the loot.

Hi Folks -

Brand new to the forum.

Just ordered one of these Cooler Masters from Newegg with the Mfg. coupon deal. Not as good a deal as some of you are getting, but still good.

Building it out with an Asus P965 P5b Plus (takes 1066 memory and quadcore) , e4300 cpu (to overclock) and a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Cooler.

Will be new futures trading machine.

Shopped alot at MWave.com. Good site.

I just built my new system with the 690, everthing is pretty heavyduty. This is certainly not for Lan parties, it weighs a ton! But it is very solid and won't tip easily. I added an Antec tri-spd 120mm fan on top. Having mesh on top for air circulation is terrific. Unfortunately the CM 120mm fan which was installed on the side panel whined pretty loud, so I swapped it for two $2.99 Yates Loons which are perfectly silent. The power supply is mounted on the bottom and there is plenty of room in the case. The slide out hard drive trays are pretty cool. I have 3 that I can swap in and out, with their plastic containers. My HD temps are 10C cooler with the P5K-D in this 690 case, compared to HD's in my P5B in my CM Elite...with the same cpu and oc.

FYI, the case is $50 US after rebate:

It's the best budget case I've ever had. Well built. Pretty sturdy. Cooler than my old case with 250mm side fan. The only minuses I've found are:

full-size ATX mobo leaving no spaces for the plastic cable-routing clips
flimsy plastic harddisk mounting clips

I have only 4 120mm fans now. The top 2 & left 2 & rear 1 are 140mm-compatible.
