Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus safe for lga1150?

Hi everyone,

I am running an i7 4770k with the stock cooler but have a hyper 212 plus I bought. I emailed cooler master and got kind of a form letter response saying it's fine for this processor but was wondering if anyone else can confirm this is the case? I am just unsure if the intel stands/connectors will put adequate pressure to allow heat transfer and not too much pressure to crack the cpu.

Thanks!

Neither the OEM cooler nor the CM 212 will exert enough pressure on an unmodified CPU to crack it.

Unless you are installing it with a sledgehammer.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I suspected it would work but wanted to see if the general consensus was it would be fine since I tend to second guess myself.

My 4670K runs with a Hyper 212 Evo at 4.4GHz under 1.2V, never going above 70c during real loads. I bet some luckier CPUs can go much higher at 1.275V.
