Has anyone used this thing. I have a 7200rpm hard drive that I really want to quiet down but keep cool. How much will it reduce the noise? Link

Does it say anything about noise reducer? with the fan, i bet it is louder than just a plain drive.

It does say that it reduces hard drive noise. But I bet its quieter than my 7200rpm hard drive and a fan now.

it won't really reduce noise, just add it with the whine from the fans

the hard drive will run cooler and last longer generally when using this

If you are talking about the Cool Drive 4002, I found that it cooled the drive allright but really did not quiet it much, the noise of the fan I thought was more noticable than the hard drive accessing it is still a good cooler, thanks for the above link :)

If this thing wont reduce the noise. What can I get that will? I have thought about Dynamat or something like that. Will that help?

just unplug the harddrive fan.

The heatsink will still help cool down the drive. Just won't be as cool as w/ the fan on.
this should quiet the drive considerablely.
