It is so cheap that you would think it is just made of variable resistors. But, it actually has lots of active components (transistors and ICs) on the printed circuit board that control the voltages that go to the 4 fans.

for those who brought this unit. does it support 18w for all 4 channel or 18w per/ channel?

This has been going on for a while i got 3 of them about 6 weeks ago. Cant help but bump this up for an awesome deal you cant go wrong

Just received mine and I am happy so far. Just to let everyone know,(didn't see it mentioned anywhere) it comes with four extensions to connect to your fans, and I had no trouble connecting it to all of the fans in my case.
