I bought one of these a while back and it is worth the money for sure. The only flaw I have seen is when you cut your computer off and then back on the color changes back to red..not a big problem but just annoying if you dont like the red color.

What connections are used? I have 2 fans with 4 pin molex connecters and only 2 wires (no 3rd wire for controlling speed). Will they be able to be controlled or will I need to buy new fans? Also, does it take 4 pin or 3 pin connectors? I can get adapters if neccessary.

It takes 3-pin connectors. To control the speed of a fan, you only need its 2 supply wires (ground and 12V wires). The third wire is for monitoring the RPM not for controlling it. All it does is to reduce the voltage on the 12V line so that the fan receive a voltage lower than 12V. The lower the voltage, the lower the RPM.

You should know that reducing the RPM of a fan reduces its noise. But, it also reduces the amount of air it moves. So, be careful not to overdo it!

this has been posted here like twice from zepper before and its stayed at this price for like...2-3 months now from what i recall

they must have a ton they're trying to get rid of...

great deal but make sure u have some long fan wires...cuz the connectors are a really far reach, especially if u got some exhaust fan in the back of the case or something...which u would essentially need a fan wire long enough to span the entire case, with some slack if possible, cuz if not, u run the risk of accidently disconnecting it, which i've done and its a huge bitch to reconnect it since my cdrom is directly adjacent to it

I have a Super Lanboy. All I had to do was to install it a little bit in may be about 1/8". The lid closes with no problem.

I just bought this, and installed it on my buddy's new computer. I couldn't get it to function with his cheap .99 Coolermaster LED 80mm case fans(also bought @ SVC). He didn't seem to care, though. It's worth the 5 bucks just to change the colors from red to green to blue.

Odd. I got it to work perfectly. Only thing like someone mention is the red color reset and also, the knob turning wasnt really smooth. I felt cheap but...well...it is cheap.

What fans were you using? Maybe I had it installed incorrectly?

I've got to stop picking up these clearance items. I got a couple Zalman CNPS6000-Cu for $5 each + shipping that comes with a fan controller so I guess I can't justify a panel like this.
Shipping for 3 is still only $5.21. Damn!

BTW, I also have a Zalman ZM-MFC1 that clears my Sonata's door.

I ordered 2 of these fan controllers with 10 fan extensions (12" long for 3 pin to 3 pin connectors) and with shipping, the cost was ~$29.00. Not a bad deal at all:)

Hey Navid,
. I'm doing a mod on your mod. I got a 10 position BCD switch so I'll be able to use the switch to decide which color I want (could have used an ordinary dip switch but the BCD is cooler). The switch and an oversized machined pin socket (safer than soldering wires direct to the switch) for it are less than a buck for the set at bgmicro.com.

.bh.

Brilliant.
Why don't you add the information (may be link to the switch as well) to the mod thread?
Thanks.
