The shipping on stacker is ~$30 for me, so even with the 5% off the stacker comes out more expensive than on other websites. However good deal if you also need to pick up some cables.

They are aluminum with a Steel Chasis which is actually very nice. It prevent alot of the noise you'd get from a Aluminum case but also gives you a lot of the cooling an aluminum case provides.

i can get the stacker for $164-ish because of local pickup (no shipping, but tax) after the discount... pretty steep for a case, still. hoping the price on this wll drop quickly. then again, prices on cases don't really drop that much like other pc parts.

The stacker is probably not going to drop much anytime soon. Its an expensive case, and built very well. I just got one. I chose it mainly because it's huge hard drive capability, up to 16 hard drives in that thing.

They have it for $154 and only $16 shipping. No tax for me they are in IL.

What I did was goto cooler master's site and check every single online store they linked to in the USA. These guys basically had the best price I could find.

They also have reasonable prices on additional 4 in 3 modules, $18.99 plus $2 shipping was what I was charged.

Well if that wasn't $300 I might have considered that one too. Note that internally it has 12 3.5" bays which is a pretty big number, but compared to the stackers possible 16 hard drives :) Even if you did a 3.5" to 5.25" adapter for each of the exernal bays, you'd still "only" have 19 hard drives. Not worth the doubling in price if you ask me.

And of course there's some nitpicking, like the coolermaster has 6 front USB ports. Which is quite nice because a lot of nforce4 motherboards have 10 usb ports but only wire 4 in back and leave the rest as headers. The coolermaster can utilize all 6 of usb ports in the headers :)

I have two coolermaster cases and am pleased with them. Also their customer service is top notch. I have an ATC-601 (black HTPC case) and they USB/Firewire ports on the front were misalgined when I got it. I broke one of the USB ports trying to force a plug thinking I could bend it enough for it to fit. Well, it snaped and the USB header was toast. I emailed them about 6 months after I bought the case from newegg, and they asked for my invoice from newegg (looked it up on newegg and forwared to them), and they sent me a new pcb/bracket no questions asked (no charge too!). All in about 4 days, package came to the US from Canada.

Good experience, I will probally continue to buy Cooler Master as long as they put out attractive/priced well cases.

I agree their cases are very nice, but their C.S. is FAR from top notch, at least their N. American service dept. It consists of one guy, Vincent, and he doesn't return phone messages nor emails. The only way I know this is because I got fed up and went through a different dept. on the phone, who then transferred me to C.S./T.S. and waited on the line until he answered. After the first operator left the line, and we had discussed my issue, I then asked him (Vincent) why no one ever answered the phone messages. He said it was because there was just him, and he couldn't keep up with all the other requests he got. He then had me email him my invoice, etc. for an RMA, and assured me that he would respond to my email. He didn't, and after 2 tries, I called back to Coolermaster and again went through the phone backdoor to get him to answer. Again he assured me he would respond if I emailed him my info. Didn't happen. I finally let my VISA card people handle it, my RMA is on the way at their cost. Times like this make gold/platinum cards invaluable ...

Aluminum cases provide practically zero cooling. 99% of the cooling that goes on in a computer case is convective. The only real advantage to aluminum is weight - a pure aluminum case is MUCH lighter than a steel case. However, aluminum is weaker than steel: they have to either add a lot of material to the panels to keep them together, or put steel strength beams all over the case (still much lighter than using steel throughout), or sell a really weak case.

So you end up with cases that are 4.5kg alu instead of 11kg steel (in the case of the Dragon), and a bit more expensive to produce. Fully loaded, the weight difference isn't nearly as much, but it's still a hefty load that you don't have to worry about.

4 in 3 module. Since the stacker case has exclusivly 5.25" slots, and NO hdd 3.5" slots where do you put the hard drives? Do you get adapters to put 1 hard drive into each 5.25" slot? Well you could. Or you could use the 4 in 3 module. Gives you 4 hdd mounting bays and takes up 3 of the 5.25" bays. And better still, it has a 120mm fan in front so it can keep those hdds cool. Since the stacker has 12 of the 5.25" bays, if you got 4 of the modules and put them in you could put 16 hard drives into it. (1 of the modules comes with it, others are extra).

BTW, that aluminum case stuff, there IS a case thats one giant heatsink with fins all over the sides and stuff and has heatpipes running through it so you dont have to have any fans on your CPU and stuff. I forget which case it is, but I seem to remember it cost a fortune for it, like $1000. It was essentially fanless.
