Coolbits

Well I had to RMA my eVGA 7900GT because of memory problems. It was in the batch that were recalled by eVGA. I got lucky and the card they RMA'd to me was a eVGA 7950GT 512MB. What luck....but now I can't get Coolbits to work for the life of me. I even went into the registry to manually do the hack, but it won't show up. Any ideas? Or should I switch to another overclocking software?

I use the 93.81's x86 32-bit and FW Coolbits 2.0 on my 7950GT and they work like a champ. The overclock does not reset itself which is a probloem on some of the other newer FW's.

Everytime I download Coolbits through Guru 3D, I click on the Registry link, but Notepad opens and nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?

I had no Notepad interruptions back when I did have Coolbits, nor with its upgrade in its new name.

The author of Coolbits rewrote it into "NVtweak", and now when I open it to look for wherever it was you could have the temps up on screen in games, I've not been able to find that. Maybe I should rool back to the older Coolbits? My newest nVidia card is the (AGP) 6800 GT . .

I tried right-click and then hit merge, but Notepad just pops up. I don't understand this because I have never had this problem with Coolbits before. Any other thoughts? Should I manually copy the file into the registry?

Never mind. I got too frustrated with Coolbits, didn't understand RivaTuner, so I downloaded nTune and it works great. Got a nice OC on the card now.
