Coolbits won't let me overclock my 7900gt!?

I have a evga 450mhz 7900gt.
the nvidia software doesn't let me overclock it past 545/785 - it tells me that I must run their test and test obviously fails.

what to do?

I've got a 7600gs, and it fails the coolbits test even below stock speeds. Kind of weird, but it doesnt artifact or anything, so I dunno what's up.

OK, I got powerstrip, but the highest settings are 598/878(1756). And one more thing - how do I check at what speed the card is working??? the coolbits still show 450/1320
