I have a 6800 gt and I used the detect optimal frequency which detected 414 core/112 memory as the optimal run frequencys for 3d. I left the the core frequency at 350 for 2d but it seems that i cant change the memory clock on the 2d without changing it for the 3d as well, so if i want the memory overclocked it has to be oced all the time. Just wondering if there is a way to change that if it.

Nope, that's the way it's been since the FX series introduced lower 2D core speeds.
