Out of curiosity, I went back down to our datacenter (steel floors), and compared the range with the controller that came with the Supra, as well as the controller that came with the Nissan Gloria. The Nissan controller had the cripple capacitor, which I snipped off. The supra doesn't have a obvious cripple cap, but I'll have to crack the case to see if the 2.0 mod applies. Anyway, perhaps it's the 3.0 motor but the steel tiles are exactly 2'x2' and I got 22' with the nissan controller and 30' with the new Supra controller. Perhaps I'm an exception, but as I said, it could be the 3.0 motor. Of course, in all the fun I lost the rear spoiler on the Supra :(

I did the antenna mod. doesn't look too bad after all.

My oem has great range but bad steering. :(

I pulled it apart and adjusted the magnet more towards the left (mine was veering to the right), put it back together and all is well. :)

Thanks to chiwawa626 for providing the link to the steering adjustments mod.

I bought an Oem bit char-g lightup celica and an oem tt skyline.

The celica has a 1.0 motor. It goes a bit to the left unless I adjust it. It does have nice range in the appartment. It doesn't turn that much.
The skyline has a 2.6motor. It goes straight and has good range. It turn very pretty well. I don't like the windup antenna though. I'll probably look for a replacement for it.

did you have to order 6 cars at once? :)

Supposedly, the controler is a new design on the supra. http://www.pbase.com/bitcharg/supra&page=2

New traces, etc. I figured out that I can get about 10 feet or so on mine. Not bad! I'll look into antennae mods. . . But if someone finds the cripple cap, I will be amazed.

Well, I just got my oem bit and oem digi-q today. Hooray! While I was waiting for these to arrive, I went ahead and purchased the micro-mites from Towerhobbies to satisfy my impatience. Comparing the three, the oem bit was the most satisfying with speed from a 2.6 motor and fairly decent steering but was definitly lacking in quality from the cheapy plastic all around and misaligned body tab hole which was too low making it looked like the car was jacked up in the front. The oem digi-q was not what I expected but surprisingly nice. This has steering just like the bits (front wheels turn but not proportional), but the speed IS proportional. And pretty fast. But not as fast as the 2.6. The micromite sucks as an rc car. speed was depressing, couldn't true steering, and range was terrible. And I even took the whole thing apart and removed lint and debri (which helped mucho but still not acceptable). But admittedly, it seemed like it had better quality molding and construction than the OEMs. Just dismal performance. Saw that some were curious to know about the OEMs so hope that this satisfied the curiousity. Think I'm goin for a Tomy original. Peace out.

still waiting for it to arrive. Today is 8/9, and its scheduled for 8/11 (how it gets shipped on sunday, i duno).

Anyways, I was just wondering.. when you guys login to Toyeast and look at your order info, in the Shipping Address field, is your ZIP code listed? I kinda freaked out when I noticed mine wasnt, and kinda suspected that it could be the cause of the delay in shipping.

However, when I added another item to my cart, and proceeded to checkout, my ZIP code clearly appeared during checkout. Must have pulled it from my login information, so, I KNOW I put it in there when I ordered last time.

Anyways, the wait is killing me. hehe.

Undream : The zip code does show up properly on the package when you get it. I had the same concern and when it came everything was fine. Kind of a flimsy box (maybe it was an OEM box as well ;)), but packed well in a lot of styronuts. I haven't tried them yet but they look cool.

The steering on the Digi-Qs is not like the steering on the bits. The Digi-Qs use differential steering -- one motor on each of the rear wheels -- and the front wheels DO NOT turn. For example, for the Digi-Q to turn left, the motor on the right side turns faster than the one on the left and the car goes left, and visa versa.

Also, the Digi-Q speed in 'Normal' mode is quite fast; 'Easy' mode is good for driving around on a desk top. With the configurable controller (Digi Propos 'Special') the speed can be increased to its maximum ... as can the acceleration, braking, and turning. I think the controllability is better than my Special Edition Bit with the 2.6 motor. The range is a lot better with the Digi-Q ... that's for sure ... and you can get a range extender (booster) accessory for the IR signal. My Bit controllers don't have the crippler cap, and their range is 10 feet max.

All-in-all, I have three Digi-Qs (two stock controllers and one special) and two Bits (stock controllers). I like them all.

I just got a 2.2 motor, Tomy springs, and dual NiMH batteries from questformadness. Only problem is that the 2.2 motor only came with a white pinion gear, which i'm pretty sure we should not use with Bit Char-g's. So, to everyone with an upgrade motor, do you just swap the black pinion to the motor you want to use each time? Because I'm still going to use my 1.0 alot too.

My 3.0 engine doesnt work, is the common problem is the contact on the back of the motor does touch? (thats what i'm reading..) have to try it later.
