I've came to realize that reading a dictionary is actually pretty fun.

But one problem I have is it gets pretty tedious to read the words in alphabetical order, it's a lot more fun when the words are randomized.

I used to do that when I was a kid. Flip to a random dictionary page, and read some definitions. I like etymology also.

This website kind of does the same thing.

They're both too terse. I want to read a complete definition, and a history of the word.

I was thinking I could print dictionarys where the words are randomized instead of alphabetical order.

And maybe each dictionary I print would have a different order of words instead of every dictionary having the same pattern.

If nothing else you could just put the pages in a three ring binder, that's not too complicated. But if this is your thing, maybe it would be better to write a dictionary app for it, and have whole pages of words instead of one at a time.
Or if you want to go the other direction and be more complicated, learn book binding!

I like analog dictionaries because publishers can't just sit there and surreptitiously change word definitions on you to suit themselves (or their agenda), and then pretend the word has always been so defined.

I think they should continue to exist. They're like a snapshot of time.

They're following the changing definition and usage of words as they've done for a long time.
