Google Voice and all it's features has been quite handy.

The sharing features in Google Docs is great.

Picasa is great for photo management.

Google Music is awesome. Let's you store 20,000 songs for free. (Before you upload any songs wait a couple of weeks as they are adding a scan and match function so you don't have to upload all of your songs if it's already in the Play Store.)

Google Hangouts is fun. Video chat with up to 9 people and other cool social features built in. The best feature of G+.

Google Wallet is gonna offer a card. Which may be handy for those places that don't support NFC. (LOL maybe the card will wave ATM fees when withdrawing cash.) It will also be your hub for all the cards you use. You just pick which card you need to use on the app and then swipe the card or use NFC if your phone and the place supports it.

Google does a lot of cool things. Yeah Google needs to make money to offer these services for free by grouping all users data and selling it to advertisers. Other companies do this too. For example Facebook.

People complain if things like apps cost money and then they complain if it's free and the company sells there data to make money.

whats the point of that? Isnt the point of google wallet to tie your debit card to it? So why give a card to replace a card?

I just updated my last post. They are also going to make Google Wallet a hub for all your cards. So you only need to have one. It's also a fix until more places support NFC payments.

Yeah you did say cool things that Google does. ;)

It's not just gonna be for credit cards either. I guess it will be for all payment cards like bus passes and what not? It's suppose to be coming soon.

That new Samsung Chromebook for $249 is pretty neat with HDMI out. It's not for everyone but think about those people who don't know much about PCs and click off any Windows updates that pop up. LOL! This is perfect for those who just want to get online and nothing more. They have even added more offline support too. Getting better. Also the only Linux distro to support Netflix.

Google Now on Android 4.0+ is pretty cool. Basically a virtual Butler.

If you live in Kansas you get free 5mb down / 1mb up Internet. Or Gigabit speeds for $70 with Google Fiber.

Google Navigation on Android 4.0+ is awesome and the voice sounds close to Human. However I think Waze may have it beat on navigation and social features. Still cool though.

Google's self driving car tech.

YouTube for letting content creators make Money. As well as offering a wealth of video content for many to easily enjoy!

Why would I want Google between my cards and myself? I just don't get the reason why I'd want them in my money, personally I'd rather carry another card. It's not like they're heavy.

Agree. For sure credit cards are much more portable than cellphones nowadays, so I still prefer them.
And no, I don't always bring my cellphone with me, especially when i go for a walk/run.

they collect information about your personal life from various sources like your searches, your email, your contacts, calls, location, IP, etc. they then aggregate the data and sent it to the NSA/CIA so that you can be monitored without falling off the grid.

lol you guys are so paranoid about how they monitor you. I have people that work with googles algorithms and they even say that paid ads are a small part of the factors for main search. Also you can request all info on you that they have and they start after 6 months to remove and personal identity from the saved information.

They constantly change the UI of google and youtube for no fucking reason.

Yeah I don't get it. I think they are running out of ideas. The majority of people are against change, so why do it?

You can graph stuff with google. Just search for sin(x) or something.

That is actually pretty cool, did not know this! It will even do 3D! Try x^2 + y^2

Another neat trick is unit conversions. Ex: "20C in F" will convert 20 Celsius to Fahrenheit. You can also convert inches to cm etc... like "20 inches in cm"

They already have a PayPal like service Google Checkout.

Some people want less stuff to carry around and like the idea of a virtual wallet. Plus they may offer coupons? Unsure about that.

The details are still sketchy until it officially comes out. Right now it looks like they are opening it up to invites. https://wallet.google.com

Another cool thing Google does is hire awesome engineers. :D

One nice thing about the Google Wallet card is that if you happen to lose your wallet or it gets stolen, you just need to sign in to Wallet and remove/deactivate your cards, rather than call each and every card company.

Google is not the only company that collects info. The Internet in general does this. Heck even your ISP, phone provider, etc.

see the people complaining about the ui changes and Google wallet here the thing,

Google is always trying to innovate and create the best user experience possible. They could be like apple and MS and inch forward and charge ridiculous prices for minimal changes. But they keep putting out solid updates and products and do it free or well below cost.

The new Nexus 4 is rumored to be almost a $300 loss for them. I own a Samsung Nexus and its a great phone.

The chromebooks sell at a loss but are nice little laptops for basic users

Gmail, Google Voice, Google Wallet, Google Maps..all great and work really well when used. Chrome is one of the best browsers ive ever used. Its fast, its secure and its easy to use.

Everything data mines now. I still believe that Google is the least of all evils. Id rather them have my info than MS or Apple. I dont see Google selling out our info anywhere near as fast or easy as MS or Apple would.

Lose your wallet, your cancel your google card and that's it. Don't even have to bother canceling your normal cards. Much more convinient and secure

I have gotten my website in the top 5 results for keywords before ... and didn't pay a dime to anyone.

So the 'you are only fed ads so google can make money' is bull. Sure people do pay to get in certain parts, but most do not.

How is creating anything that removes the physical token you carry more secure? If my CC gets stolen and used my bank doesn't stick me with that bill, if it's attached to something else (like my amazon account) and that gets hacked/stolen/whatever I don't get that protection.

Because its a layer of security. You know what happens in places like Korea with credit cards? Many people don't actually carry credit cards. They carry little tokens or somethng that represents their credit card account. In my case, I have a keychain trinket that is linked to my card in Korea.

Anytime I make a purchase, I get a notification that I used my card, and what it was used for, and if need be, I can instantly cancel that account without ever having used my card.

Also the Google Card can either be linked with your Google Wallet, which I probably wont do, and linked to your credit cards, which means you still get all the credit card protection with the convenience of not ever being able to lose the physical plastic card.
