I have a 2.5" SATA media player for my daughter but the 5200rpm 160gb SATA drive I use in it seems to get a bit hot for my liking. This media player can run all day so I don't want the drive or player to overeat and burn up. It can use SATA 2.5" drives, SD cards and USB flash memory.
Aside from SSD's which are way too expensive and low in space, what options are there for a reasonable cost storage solution that won't get blisteringly hot? I tried to get an SD card, but unfortunately it turned out to be a fake 32gb as it's actually a lowly 4gb card rebadged. I have the same concern about fakes with USB flash, plus larger capacities are still pricey. I wonder if there are any 32-64gb SSD's in the fs/ft section for a reasonable price?
