Edit:

I missed the second "add the last 4 digits"
It works with any set of two numbers where the first number is 3 digits and the second number is 4 digits. You didn't do it right.

It's nothing fancy. Anyone who can do algebra can proof that :)

Let first three digits of your phone number be x
And last 4 digits of your phone number be y

So that your phone number is actually 10000*x + y
Say your number is 123 4567
123 * 10000 + 4567 = 1234567

Now the formula:

"Take first 3 digits multiply by 80, add 1 then times the result by 250, add last 4 digits 2 times, minus result by 250 and divide the result by 2" can be written as follows:

[(80x + 1)*250 +2y - 250] / 2

= [20000 x + 250 + 2y - 250] / 2
=(20000x + 2y) / 2
= 10000x + y
= your original phone number

These tricks can be formulated with any set of numbers easily if you spend a little time on formulating them.

Too bad you have no English skills :p

this is retarded. anyone can come up with a math like this.

multiply by 80
add 2
multiply by 250
add the last 4 digits of your phone number
add the last 4 digits again
subtract 500
divide by 2

or

multiply by 160
add 2
multiply by 500
add the last 4 digits of your phone number 8 times
subtract 1000
divide by 8

Ok, I did it. I got 20137.5. Whats your point?

that means you suck at math or can not operate a calculator correctly

I kinda figured you got your phone number again. But yea I accidently skipped a step lol.

all these calculation 'tricks' are stupid. somewhere somehow in the process you entered the whole phone number yourself. the rest of the math cancels everything else out.
