Interesting news! I by no means am a physicist but I never really thought anything like this would happen in my lifetime

Heh... "entaglement" is the name of a level in HL2, never knew it had stuff to do with quantum physics though.

I've seen similar research done with virtual pairs, but this is quite a bit different. Keep in mind, though, that it was just a couple particles, "teleporting" a mass big enough to see with the naked eye is far off. If even possible.

The experiment involved for the first time a macroscopic atomic object containing thousands of billions of atoms. They also teleported the information a distance of half a meter but believe it can be extended further.

This is the part that astonishes me. I realize we are a long way off from "useful" transportation but being able to move thousands of billions of atoms to me is amazing

What that said to me was, they teleported the information about the object half a meter, not the entire object itself.

You think that's crazy? This is quantum theory we're talking about here.... They'll open a portal back in time and teleport Bruce Lee in on their ass.
