well earlier at idle was 45-46 deg and times stayed at 50deg....while going thro settings today saw that my power management settings had been changed by WinDVR so put it back to minimal power management and whoopa ...at idle my 3500+ finally got below 40deg to 37deg...now only at full load it reaches 54deg....but that's only when doing video encoding...now it's 41deg...COOL n QUIET is COOL guys

I've had no problem with it, and it works like a charm with my board. Might I suggest a BIOS update?

locked me up a couple of times in game so I turned it off again. Never really cooled me down to much. only about 4c at max. normally stayed around what it use to. gotta love the winnys 🙂

ya isss pretty cool... mine too is doing 54 degrees load (video encoding) and thass only because not all my fans are runnings... it idles at about 30oC 🙂

Wierd... I have Cool 'n Quiet disabled and mine's idling at 41C with the retail cooler at 2.38 GHz on 1.45 volts.

Does cool and quiet slow the cpu fan down? I thought it was supposed to, but when I enabled it, it just put my multi to 5 and adjusted the cpu core to 1.1v, leaving my fan at 3000rpm. Basically I just wanted it to quiet my computer like the name says. Is there some setting for this?

The fan speed will go down if the CPU temp goes down low enough.

I Idle at around 22-25C, highest temp I've ever seen is 32, and thats with SuperPI, 4 firefox browsers, winamp, and aim running. With HL2 it never goes above 29C. Insane, I know. Everything stock, 😱. Yes, I will overclock in a few months.

Running with Cool n Quiet AND Asus Q-Fan, my fan actually kicks off for about 8 to 12 minutes at a time. As the temperature approaches 51C, the fan kicks back on until the temperature is around 35C. The fan runs so slow that you can't hear it when it's on.

When gaming, the fan does kick up but is still basically inaudible. I love Cool n Quiet with Q-fan. Also, works great with nice quiet temperature controlled fans with a Sonata case. Add a fanless heatsink to the 5900XT card and all is quiet (and fast when needed)! 😀

Oh, and it's an A64 3200+.
