Cool Mac software

I've used PCs for a really long time, but I recently bought an iMac (needed it for some classes I'm taking that involve Mac-only software).

Anywho, right now it's just got Adobe CS2, StuffIt, some codec stuff, and my MP3 collection on it (waiting for some other software to arrive). What're some cool Mac-only programs I can put on it (preferably freeware)? I've never used a Mac before outside of very limited exposure at school.

Specs: 1.8GHz PowerPC G5, OS X Tiger, 512 MB DDR400, Radeon 9600.

It's possible.

I prefer Camino for the things that don't work with Safari. I prefer Safari for the things that don't work in Camino.

I use them both, but I use Camino more.

I really love those plugin things, what are they called? I got one that tells me the address and price of the cheapest gas staion in my area. 🙂

I prefer Adium and Firefox respectively myself. Although I know nothing about Fire...

I use NeoOfficeJ for word processing and stuff, although I don't do a whole lot of that so I can't say if it's great or not. I certainly does the job.

Chicken of the VNC for vnc. Haven't tried anything else though...

VLC for watching dvds with a different region code

I agree, I've tried out Fire and I didnt like it that much, Adium rules. Firefox as well is just great.

Delicious Library is really cool if you want to catalog CDs, DVDs, Games or Books

Just discovered Cyberduck for an sftp gui. Looks very nice so far and I think I will use this alot 🙂

Also trying out Smultron as a gui text editor (cause vim just isn't handy when you're using Finder). I hate TextEdit :thumbsdown:

I picked these up from an article on newsforge...

Has anyone gotten ethereal to run? IIRC, there's no non-X version (other than windows) and the X one gives me trouble starting up 🙁
