That clock is only semi-1337, a real 1337 clock wouldn't use BCDs. I agree with others, who the hell wants to convert binary to decimal every time they look at a clock?!
 
Uh.. its not really tough at all to read. And 24 hours makes it easier IMHO, but thats what I'm used to. Takes a tad bit longer to decipher, but I'd definitly consider picking one up just to piss off idiots. (no offense if you cant read it)
