I know that. Buy your domain of your choice, attach it to a free 1and1.com account, and use it as an email service. Total cost ~$8-10 per year for the domain.

 
So whats the deal with 1and1.com...are they trust worthy...I am considering moving my domain there...really don't want to screw up my domain.

They may be trustworthy but their buggy slow as hell control panel will test your patience.

If you can afford $10/yr then I would suggest signing up for RippleHost.com
