Cool Down Core i7

Hi,

I have just bought one Core i7 system. On normal usage, the temperature is damn hot; around 50C. Does Core i7 have the functionality like AMD's Cool n Quiet that can automatically scale down CPU clock speed to almost 50% and dramatically reduce the heat? If got, how can I enable the function?

50C is very much with in the normal operating range of an I7 CPU. Yes, you can underclock it if you wish.

Core i7 will automatically clock down when idle. If your system isn't doing that, check the BIOS. Usually at all defaults power management is enabled. Look for stuff like EIST, SpeedStep, C1/C3, etc.
