i just found out that my cell phone's built in alarm clock feature will work even if the phone is turned off.

i guess the battery died overnight but had just enough juice to power the phone so the alarm would work.

I have a very old school (well by todays standards, everyone has color flip phones and whatnot) Nokia 3590.

oh well theres my useless post for the day.

Mine has that too. Along with the tip calulator and a few misc games like the snake thing where it gets longer when it eats the little food things.

I always use my cell phone alarm clock on business trips. I don't trust hotel alarms, and the hotel phone ringing at 4am to wake me up is much more painful than my cell phone playing a mello song. Plus hotels have "forgotten" to call me in the past.
Even works when my cell is turned off. It turns itself on for the alarm.

I use my old retired nokia every day as an alarm clock, it's great. And the battery lasts about a month.

Oh. Makes sense. In other words, head to your local chinatown to get the deal (yeah, somehow it happens in those areas)

i got my E715 a year ago for free from a chinatown phone shop. that was when it first came out and amazon wants >$250 for it. and even though the RAZR is a cingular phone, the shop will sell it for t-mobile service since it comes unlocked.

Just checked mine, I set the alarm and turned it off, works great!

Thanks, I'll definitely be using this in the future, it even has a sleep function!

Yep - I have one of those prepay phones too and I love it. It's perfect for someone that doesn't use a cell much.
