cool airplane spin video

I took some videos tonight of my spin lesson, thought you guys might like to see.

This is in a Cessna 152, I'm in the right seat. Near Palos Verdes CA. To spin, you cut the throttle, pull back on the yoke until the wings stall (airflow breaks up). Then you apply full rudder and the wing drops and the plane starts rotating like crazy.

Spin

The screeching sound is the stall warning horn, it's a little device in the wing that tells you when the airflow is breaking away from the wing.

And here's a 360 degree roll, stopping briefly every 90 degrees.
hesitation roll

I DO I DO!!!
edit: I do want to see them, have nowhere to host though 🙁

Spin lessons are great 😀 How did you manage to get viedo of it?

fun trick to do:
1)Trim the plane hands-off for 60 knots.
2) Add full throttle, pull nose up and kick some hard rudder at the break for a crisp entry.
3)throttle to idle, and
4) let go of all the controls.

It will barely get into the yellow as it recovers from the spin entry without further input from you.

One caveat; if you let it go through the recovery till it gets nose-up again, it will do another wicked spin entry, all by itself🙂

Got this after dl'ing the first and trying the second. Host sucks.

Wow - I didn't think you were supposed to spin a 152. I did my groundschool about 10 years ago - never got to the flying part 🙁 But I'm pretty sure the place I went to said that they didn't do spin training in the cessnas

150/152 spin fine. they are utility category aircraft.
We used the 150 for spin training, working on the Flight Instructor rating.

GAh I cant watch, I guess my comp here at work doesnt have the codec or something? Or maybe I should've done save as....cant now since the host blocks for an hour 🙁

Armitage: Most places wont do spin training in Private Pilot training, some wont allow it at all. I did mine in a 172, as skyking said as long as you are in the utility category you are fine.
