This, notfred, is a grammatical error known as a comma splice. It's when two independent clauses are joined with a comma without the additional help of a coordinate conjunction. In this case, a period or a semicolon would have sufficed nicely. This has been your grammar tip of the day. Exactly. That's why nowhere in this thread do you see me complaining. This was totally unexpected and a few hundred extra bucks in my pocket at the end of the year is fine with me.

Personally, I'd contribute it to my 401K plan. Make the change even before you see the raise in your check. The money will be more beneficial when you retire. Congrats on the raise. 🙂
