I am having a mini thanksgiving dinner for my friends tonight. We are slow cooking 2 chickens in the oven at 250. There are a few other side dishes (stuffing, green bean casserole, mashed sweet potatoes) that need to go in the oven @ 350 for about a half hour. How do I adjust the time so that I can put them in the oven with the chicken @ 250?

30 mins @ 350 = x mins @ 250.

What would be a good time for x? Will cooking these things at a lower temperature affect the dishes?

I don't know an easy way to convert times. It depends on the size of the bird. Google could prabably help. Or look for BBQ times because that's right at BBQ temps.

i just burned a chicken, boiling it
i didn't know you could burn chicken when boiling it

dumb induction burner, apparently you should put it on 212F to boil, not higher like a traditional burner

Well the point is moot as the chicken only took 4 hours as opposed to 5. All is well, hope the food is good.

An oven thermometer is a godsend. A lot of times the oven temperature is very different than what you think it is.
