obligatory asian rice cooker tip:

place your finger so that your finger tip touches the top of the rice. The water level should be at the first joint.

if you do this, your rice should come out perfect every time...
yeah, because everyone has hands that are the same size.

I think I might pass on those ingredients - at least for now :)

Appreciate it though.

You want better-tasting rice with no added ingredients? :D

The other key is simply getting tastier rice. Jasmine rice is the bomb on it's own, especially paired with fish, like salmon.

But how do you make that plain rice taste a bit better? The ones from the Chinese restaurants taste very different to the one I make in my rice cooker.
You can get basmati or Jasmine (or other kinds of rice) that are naturally fragrant, and they might taste better.

Its not a tip unless you also have a measure for how much rice your measure is good for. Otherwise how is it going to be used for 1 cup vs 4 or however much cups of rice?

The real tip is to use the finger joint to measure out the rice before adding the water and then for the water to roughly check that they are in equal parts.

Now wheres that guy who always shows up and says you don't need a rice cooker....

I don't need one, I just do it a pan...
First wash the rice then recover it with water, if the amount of water gets to low just add more.
If at end the rice is done and to much water is left drain it carefully.
A lot more effort than just pressing a button but also a lot cheaper.
