Converting Real Video to MPEG avi

MPEG avi? Unless I am a gigantic n00b I believe those are two separate file-types. There's no such thing as an MPEG avi. You may be confusing an MPEG-2 XviD encoded avi, which is just an avi created from a source file in MPEG-2 format.

I was in your position a few weeks ago. A quick search gave this thread which contains a link (like in post 2) in it that will give you various options. I ended using EO video.

Well, I don't nescessarily need MPEG format. I just want to be able to watch the video on a computer without Real Video being installed. avi, Xvid, MPEG, Divx, whatever format it takes. I want to be able to play it back in a player like Windows media player or media player clasic.
