Converting dynamic partions to basic?

One of my partitions (on secondary HDD) was getting full about a month ago and I needed to steal some space from another partition. I was lazy and used Vista's built in disk management tool.

Now I have a bunch of dynamic partitions, and getting ready to migrate to Win7.

I'm wondering if...

1) There's an easy way to convert dynamic partitions to basic without moving the data off the drive, deleting volumes, recreating partitions, and moving the data back?

2) If Win7 will accept the dynamic partitions, so I can maybe just "hope it works?"

Thanks in advance.

If the data has any value, you really should back it up anyway. Doing what you are planning is risky without backups. At that point, you could just simply rebuild the storage drive from scratch and restore the data.
