I have an AVI file and I've gotten as far as decompressing the audio, but I have a problem now; whenever I convert the AVI file to VCD, it throws the ratio off(the HxW ratio of the file is 2 to 1). I've tried TMPGEnc and also AVI2VCD and both have done the same thing. Is there another program out there that can just convert over to MPG and not change the ratios?
thanks,

I'm not sure, but I think your wanting to know how to change the resolution from the standard VCD resolution using TMPGEnc, correct? If so, you need to load the "unlock" template. this will let you change the resolution.

If this is not your question, please rephrase your question and I'll try reading it again.

I have been using dvd2svcd for quite a while now for converitng dvds to cdr's. And there is an option there to select dvd or avi file for your source. I am not sure if this program is the same as AVI2VCD though.
I use it with tmpgenc

good luck
