Converting a Walmart Gift Card to Visa/MC w/o penalty

So I returned a $700 TV to Sams Club without a receipt and ended up getting a store credit. The credit can be used at Sams Club And Walmart.

The problem is that I rarely shop at either. So I started to think ... Walmart sells Visa/MC cards.

Can I get a $700 Visa/MC card from Walmart and use my store credit to pay for it? That would give me a regular credit card I can expend elsewhere.

Any ideas / advice ?

At most places you can't use gift cards to buy other gift cards or prepaid credit cards. I don't know if Walmart allows it or not, but from what I've read for other stores, I doubt it.

probably has to do with cash back/reward points or some kinda silly technicality crap.
