Is there a program that will convert my .mpgs to dvd format? I just bought a Dvd burner so I'm a Dvd noob, but I do have Nero & Alcohol 120%

I'll help you.

try Ulead DVD Workshop 2
or
Intervideo WinDVD Creator

you have to pay

if you want free programs, try D.I.K.O

isn't there an easier way to put mpg files onto a dvd without converting? i mean those people who sell illegal dvds on the street didn't re-encode their crap. it's basically 2 svcd that they stuck on one dvd. i'm pretty sure it's not re-encoded because it takes up a real small portion of the dvd. and sometimes when u put it in an apex, it displays the list of file (2files).

Then why don't you just ask them?

Bwahahaha

Yes they did. It must be converted to mpeg2 with AC3 or Mp3 sound. Reguardless of the source it must be re-encoded. With authoring software you can even make menus and such.

check out converting and tools. you can actually find free tools.
