Does anyone have any suggestions on how to convert a X850XT so it only takes up 1 slot (SFF/mobo is only 1AGP 1PCI and doesnt have extra room). Perhaps removing the stock cooling and replacing it with something?

Thanks

Get the x850pro and flash it to xt speeds.

Otherwise... remove the stock cooling... if it's attached to the card by the metal (which I think it is), cut that part off, then install your own heatsink on it.

Although I'm not sure if that's exactly doable.

I already have the X850XT, and got it at a good price ($315 CAD + tax -$50 MIR). Any idea what kind of heatsink would work? Also i considered removing only the plastic fan and duct, and placing on a thin fan.

lol i honestly dont know dude, most decent aftermarket coolers are 2 slot too. the Silencer and the VF700 being the best.

do you have room for water cooling? if you got the skillz maybe you could design and make your own heatsink? fashion something from copper and heat pipes? lol i dunno....you gonna have to get creative.

i think you could look on www.bit-tech.net

have a mooch round their forums, theres some people on there who do insane case mods and hardware mods, maybe you'll find what your looking for, maybe you could ask for ideas or something.
