Convert VHS to DVD

What is the best hardware out there to convert VHS tapes to DVD ? At my work they record sales demo's on VHS (old ones) and now would like to put them on DVD

The best hardware may be buying a VHS/DVD Recorder deck. Pop both in and record. In the time it takes to read it into an editor, you already have it on DVD. One touch dubbing for $350.

Exactly and you can use the PC for other things while it's going on cause the PC route can gooble CPU cycles and can mess up if multitasking...

And it's only $120 AR (shipped) from Newegg

I have it and it works great. G's solution is still the simplist and probably fastest way to just convert VHS though. The Plextor is a hardware encoder of all the popular formats including DIVX though, so lost CPU cycles isn't a problem.

Pick up the latest copy of Maximum PC (Ultimate Upgrade Bible on cover). They did a whole article on this exact procedure with hardware and software recommendations.
