Controversial "Egan's Law" Expected to Gain Widespread Support

<< i find that horribly offensive. it should be illegal to post stuff like that. >>

I hope you are joking.

What I find offensive is the fact that the American Catholic Church has knowingly and deliberately sheltered and hidden dozens if not hundreds of known child molesters for decades. The mere existence of a marginally comical satirical article on the subject does not bother me in the least.

<< "I always told my kids to steer clear of that place," added neighbor Scott Carlyle. "But that's because there were a lot of strange people going in and out at odd hours, even at midnight on Saturdays. I was worried it was some kind of druggie hangout. >>

LOL 😀

<< "Last year, we discovered that a Catholic Church had been in our neighborhood for 30 years! And nobody told us!" said Ruth Harper of Redbrook, N.J. >>

<< "In the Catholic Church, after 2,000 years, Mary is still a Virgin," she said. "So clearly, they're not interested in girls." >>

😀

The catholic church needs to revoke the vow of celibacy and allow priests to marry. That or remove the testicles of every priest who takes the vow.
For them to think that humans don't have sexual urges is a joke. Other religions allow the leader of their place of prayer to marry and they have no problems with it.
Get rid of the stupid vow and you'll have priests going after a woman to marry instead of little boys.

Freejack2,

you have some form of medical evidence that being married or having sex with a woman keeps a pedophile from molesting? Based on your statement a married man would never molest a little boy. Then explain the other individuals in society who do this...ministers, rabbis, coaches, gym teachers, scout leaders, etc. A good portion of these people are married and commit the same vile acts.

Not all Priests are pedophiles, and not all pedophiles are Priests. The vow of celibacy does not cause one to become a pedophile. A pedophile is a pedophile....if they then choose to be a cab driver, a dentist, a police officer, or a Priest...that is merely a choice they make. Personally I feel that Priests who do this are pedophiles who mistakenly believed that hiding in the Priesthood would somehow heal them or help them control themselves. I also believe it is shameful that the church did not expose these individuals and have them prosecuted/treated. This would have saved a lot of kids from this tragedy and could have gotten some of these men treatment/removed from society. I applaud the Catholic Church for going through this difficult and painful process of purging and cleansing itself, it will only be better after all is done. :frown:
