Parent has wanted a computer for some time (Parent 74, predjudiced, and shows no social restraint).

Purchased new laptop but would like to install software first that will allow me to monitor remotely and lock it down if any anti-social behavior shown .

Would prefer to use a good software that will both monitor and shutdown remotely - any suggestions?

At home, he complains about our mayor of Jewish heritage, likes to use the "n" word to describe blacks, doesn't like polish, germans, etc. using racial slurs for all, thinks Judge J*dy and Court tv are the way the world goes, etc. He is an equal opportunist in this regard.

Actively thinks everyone else is wrong, coach of UK a dimwit, etc., etc. Physically handicapped hasn't been out of the house much in years, particulary since he is also extremely lazy.

I would not want him to send threatening emails to the head of our country, the city major, the governor, etc and express his views of their performance in less than civil tones.

I was hoping it would let him see a better picture of the world, get info, etc. but definitely want to keep an eye out and not able to get by there enough to physically monitor his use.

Thanks for the reading.

VCN looks pretty good, but it has a monthly payment. I found something called radmin that looks like might work, a one time payment and I could work on his machine if he had problems.

I had thought of software as if I had a teenager that I was trying to monitor, that might send back emails or copies of emails, or something along the lines of a trojan that would allow me to remotely stop his use.

Any other suggestions of software?

Thanks again,

KY Dan

FreeVNC / TightVNC are free.

there are lots of others too. Don't pay for VNC software.
