Okay, so I have already passed the end of my contract with a hiring agency. It was suppose to be for X amount of days and then I would be directly hired. Of course, with the current economy they arent hiring at this point. I assume they did ask for the contract house to take a pay cut. Thing is, I know my cost to the company is way less than a regular employee. So of course he comes to me telling me that I need to take a XX% paycut. At the very least they see me being there for 2 more months as a contractor before I would get hired in as an employee.

I have to find my contract, but I know there wasnt anything in there about being able to change my pay. Is my only option to take it in the ass or otherwise lose my job? Anyone have any advice about this?

Are you past the duration of your contract? They can do whatever they want with you, I'm assuming. Take the pay cut, don't sign anything, and look for a new job.

When I got hired on "perm" to my company after a year of being a contractor they wanted me to take a $7000/year paycut. After talking it over with my boss he was able to do some wiggling and get me hired on at the next salary level position which as equal to my contractor pay. Score for me.

Well, I am contracted out to only 1 company the entire duration. I assume that if I tried to become a contractor through them that I would be breaking a non-compete clause? Not sure how that works.

things certainly changed. i guess i was underpaid when i took the contract at first union bank 10+ years ago, i got a raise when i was hired full time. now i'm with FU/WACH/Wells Fargo still.
