verizon whores are trying to sell verizon to you.

since you get good service with tmo, why not stay with them for more minutes?
if you don't travel, coverage is nothing to you.

there are some nicer gsm phones that tmo doesn't carry. you can get the one with worth the most resell value, then ebay it.

moto v80
moto v878
SE K700

v80 is about $200 now.

we aren't verizon whores you jackass. we speak from experience and recommend verizon b/c we've been happy with the service. if you get a chance, check out verizon. i doubt you'll be disappointed.

I had my chance to check out verizon before I get my first cell phone. their cellphone selection is just too sh!tty that it turned me away before I even look at their plan. I will stick with GSM. I am planning to upgrade my phones and I have literally unlimited choices to pick.

Is that $6 a flat fee? I thought they charge by the usage. Anyway all Verizon charges you for is airtime plus their gateway usage. All you need to do is change the gateway IP to a public gateway IP and all you're using is your minutes. It gets old after awhile but it sure is fun in the beginning. 🙂

I thought, and I may be wrong because I never really looked into it, that you paid some monthly flat fee and you then had a certain amount of online time and any time past that you got charged for. Like how they do text messaging if you don't have a text messaging plan; you get x many free a month then it is a certain charge after that.

I very well may be wrong, I got it for free so I really don't care!

Edit:

Found this at verizonwireless.com
Mobile Web by VZW with MSN® Read and send e-mails, exchange instant messages and view your favorite web content on your wireless phone. Mobile Web even provides access to a personalized Calendar and Address Book. The service is offered for an additional monthly access charge, plus airtime and other applicable charges.
Priced at $4.99 a month. So it just may be $5.00 a month for access to their gateway plus the cost of your airtime minutes. Not that bad of a deal, I suppose, but it can eat up a lot of minutes during primetime.

Ok so my contract with TMobile is up.
Should i Switch to Verizon or Stay with Tmobile. Im from Philly and Tmobile has been fine. I mean what has better rates. Right now i can get Tmobile 1000 minutes free weekends for $40.

I also have the Erickson phone should i get a new one. What phone should i get. Trying to get the best deal. I know someone has input

If you put up a half assed attempt at leaving, they will send you to the retention dept.

At which you can tell them you know several people, myself and my roomate included, who have been offered:

1000 minutes, free nights and weekends, no roaming, LD, for $39.99 a month and a new e315 phone for $35 bucks.

Can't beat that at verizon.

only switch to verizon if you have problems with your reception. Their rates are generally higher and their phones are sub-par.

so, why doesn't this make you a GSM WHORE??

to say people that support verizon are whores and people that support gsm aren't is just plain stupid.

When they offered my new plan they first offered the e315 phones ... then I said would you do the same deal but with the V600's instead. The gal put me on hold for a min then came back on and said that they would. I was really surprised at the deal and didn't hesitate to resign. 🙂

Verizon rocks.

I don't get as many minutes/dollar, but once you take into account that in-network calling is free and Verizon is the most popular cellphone service in the North East, it doesn't really matter too much. I literally know only one person amongst all my friends/coworkers/family members that doesn't use Verizon.

phone selection isn't that great, but again, what are you really going to be using your phone for, other than talking? the LG VX6000 is great for all of my needs.

peole like me sign up with verizon for the same reason why I buy IBM thinkpads. i don't care about fancy, i don't care about glitz, i just want it to work. that's verizon. is it the cheapest, not even close, but then why do so many people use it? because it is without question the best coverage, particularly in the northeast.

yes, i am. so what? GSM works well, the rest of the world use it. most phones come out for use on GSM network.

verizon = whorizon. 😛

to OP, go with the free e315, sell it and get v80.

hmmm wonder if they would do that same deal with the 3880. I mean whats better. the e315,3880 or v600

Theyll cut you a similar deal on whatever phone you want...the e315 just happens to be a particularly good deal.

like what kind of deal. what should isay and ask them

Say you know what other people are getting, but you would like to inquire about phones other than the e315...they wont let you down. If they carry the 3880, theyll have it for a good price. They quoted me a pretty ridiculous price on the blackberry 7100t.

Verizon is great.. but i'm thinking about switchign to Tmobo if Verizon doesn't come out with better deals soon!
